EZ-NetTools – Now Street View Trusted

By: Alex Ary | August 4, 2016

Although Street View isn’t new, in the last few months, Google has been pushing the Street View platform found on Google Maps. While they are getting rid of the “see inside” feature built into the street view platform, they are integrating the photo spheres that are taken at businesses with the Google My Business platform.

Photo spheres or Virtual Tours?

There is a slight difference between photo spheres and virtual tours. A photo sphere consists of one photograph that is put into a 360 viewer. A virtual tour brings multiple photo spheres together, creating a path that you can travel down from photo sphere to photo sphere. It is very similar to the way you can “walk down a street” using Google Maps Street View.

Studies have shown that those who use virtual tours generate 2X more interest in their Google My Business listing. “Those who view a listing with a virtual tour are twice as likely to be interested in booking a reservation there. And among 18-34 year-olds in particular, prospects are 130% more likely to book based on a tour”. More information about that study.

In fact, 67% of people surveyed want more virtual tours! These can only be achieved through 360 photos, which, to be honest, are tricky to get right with a phone.
